Aleksa’s work is concerned with the duality of hermetically private and general spaces. His output can be broadly described as sequences or variations on single motifs, with the compositions often reduced to a single figure.

The works incorporate exploration of figurative expression, texture and tone with abstract spaces coalescing into infinite horizons. The figures invoke a sense of static monumentality while retaining relations of tension. Gestures alternate constantly outlining radical manifestations of interhuman fluctuations. Aleksa makes dramatic use of lighting, an important expressive element, transfixing subjects in harsh spotlights and long, occasionally independent, darkening shadows. He employs a precise technique to construct the complex compositions of his figurative works, emphasizing emotion through detailed, textured surfaces, and the interplay of real and abstract.
